It was a true racing car for the road. To achieve this Ferrari designed a carwith major modifications to its engine, aerodynamics, brakes and F1 gearbox. The car was also significantly reduced in weight, making the car 110 kilograms lighter than the 360 Modena. To realize this weight reduction the technicians had removed anything that wasn’t strictly functional to performance or safety. Besides using aluminum, which weighs a third of steel, they also introduced titanium as a new material. The Challenge Stradale could go from0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. Named after its founder, Enzo Ferrari, the company’s origins can be traced back to a time when the entrepreneur workedin the racing division of Alfa Romeo. Prior to that, Enzo himself had actuallybeen a successful race car driver, winning his first Grand Prix in 1923. However, following the deaths oftwo of his fellow Italian drivers, Ugo Sivocci, and Antonio Ascari,  Enzo Ferrari retired from racingand instead began to manage and develop race cars for Alfa Romeo.
